At Vintage, we contract with partners who provide legal services to older adults 60+ free of charge to those with the most significant economic or social needs. We are here to help you find the support you need.

Elder Abuse, Scams & Financial Exploitation

Elder abuse can take many forms. It can be physical, emotional, financial, sexual, or self-neglect. It can happen anywhere, and the abuser can be a loved one, family member, friend, neighbor, paid caregiver, or stranger.

Vintage has a zero tolerance policy against elder abuse.

Legal Resources

There are a lot of different resources out there for legal assistance. But we have vetted these resources for you. We want you to have the help that you can trust. Here’s a list of trusted legal resources:

  • Advocacy for individuals in a long-term care facility is available through your local Ombudsman Program. Under the federal Older Americans Act, every state is required to have an Ombudsman Program that addresses complaints and advocates for the resident in the long-term care system.   • Colorado Legal Services is a not for profit legal resource dedicated to serving low- income, seniors and other vulnerable populations in Eagle, Grand, Jackson, Pitkin, Routt, and Summit Counties. Fees are based on income and ability to pay. Please contact them at the above link to see if you qualify.
  • For residents of Eagle, Garfield, and Pitkin Counties, Alpine Legal Services is a not for profit legal assistance agency available to assist you.
  • General help and information are available at the Colorado Attorney General
  • Five Wishes is a legal document designed to make your wishes known should you become unable to speak for yourself and meets the legal requirements for advanced directives. To learn more about this exceptional program and make your preferences known please visit Five Wishes
