CPR and AED Awareness Week runs June 1-7, and it is a good reminder that knowing how to respond in a cardiac emergency can make all the difference.

More than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospitals in the U.S. every year, and immediate CPR can double or even triple someone's chance of survival. Yet less than half of those who experience cardiac arrest receive help from a bystander before professionals arrive.

CPR is a skill most people can learn. Whether you take an online course or watch a 60-second Hands-Only CPR video, getting informed is one of the best ways to look out for your community. Find resources at heart.org/nation.

Businesses and organizations can also download the free American Heart Association Community Toolkit for key messages, social media content, infographics, and more.

Get the toolkit at cpr.heart.org/en/-/media/Files/Nation-of-Lifesavers/2025-CPR-Week-External-Community-Toolkit.pdf.
