Nutrition

You are what you eat (so they say)

Vintage can help with food & nutrition services

Proper nutrition is critical to good health—no matter what your age. Studies show that the right diet and proper food intake are especially crucial for older people and that poor nutrition is the biggest threat to an older adult’s independence. To promote accurate and research-based nutritional health, Vintage offers the following nutrition-related programs such as Home Delivered Meals, Community Based Meals, and Nutrition Education and Counseling through our amazing partners and providers.

Home Delivered Meals

Ever want a healthy and warm meal delivered to your home?

At Vintage, we offer home-delivered meals that are prepared and delivered by our local providers for eligible older adults age 60+. We believe no older adult should ever experience hunger, and we work with local providers to help older adults in Eagle, Grand, Jackson, Pitkin, Routt, and Summit Counties.

Here are options for home-delivered meals, by county:

Community Based Meal Programs

Are you interested in eating with friends out and about in your community? We also have the option of community-based meals! That way, you can gather for food and community. Check out the options:

Community Based Meal Programs

Nutrition Education & Counseling

Do you want more information about nutrition or physical health? We offer nutrition education programs to promote better health by providing accurate and culturally sensitive nutrition, physical fitness, or health information.

These programs are available to participants and caregivers in a group setting, which is also great for community building. There’s also the option to watch nutrition education videos on demand, taught by Colorado’s top nutritional professionals. Check out the videos here: https://www.bigmarker.com/communities/ColoradoAgingWithNutrition/conferences

Another option for individualized advice and guidance for older adults who are at nutritional risk is Nutritional Counseling.

If someone you love is at risk, or you are struggling because of any issues such as dietary intake, health or nutritional history, medications use, or chronic illnesses, this could be the option for you! Our goal with Nutritional Counseling is to provide opportunities and methods for improving nutritional status and decreasing nutritional risk. A Registered Dietitian performs these helpful counseling sessions following state law and policy.

If you would like nutritional counseling or have an interest in learning strategies for improving your nutritional health, please call our Registered Dietitian Patti Murphy at (720) 300-3770 for more information or to set up an appointment.
