SEND A CARD TO A FRIEND DAY
THE BENEFITS OF SENDING CARDS
Greeting cards have been around since the 19th century. In fact, John Callcott Horsely designed the first Christmas Card in 1843 right before commercial card production started in the 1860s.
But, why do we send greeting cards? In this day and age there are tons of other ways to connect online, so what is the importance of receiving a handwritten card?
- Communicates Touch
Cards are often sent to those we love that are far away. It signifies a touch
between the sender and receiver because both are touching the same object. This will help you feel closer to each other. - Increase our Sense of Well-Being
Receiving a thoughtful and personal card brings around feelings of self-esteem and self-worth. It can also help the receiver feel less alone. - Communicates Time and Effort
Nothing signifies thoughtfulness and effort like a hand-written card. It can help the receiver feel valuable and worthwhile.
