Long Term Care Ombudsman

"When my mom, who has dementia, was suddenly sent to the ER for an altered mental state, I felt overwhelmed and completely out of my depth. Everything was confusing and I was unsure how to advocate for my mom. Ombudsman Tina Strang was truly my lifeline. Tina helped me understand my mom's legal rights, provided vocabulary so I could ask the right questions, and assisted me to raise concerns constructively with healthcare providers. With Tina's steady guidance and support, I was able to execute a clear, actionable strategy during an otherwise highly chaotic and stressful time. I am happy to report that my mom is once again thriving in her assisted living home."

What is an Ombudsman?

And how can an Ombudsman help me?

People living in long-term care facilities, including nursing homes and assisted living facilities, occasionally need help with support and advocacy.

Ombudsmen advocate for residents and are available to ensure their rights are respected, and their wishes are met. They also provide information to residents and their families regarding facilities and quality care and are trained in problem resolution.

The Vintage Ombudsman Program is here to assist you! All matters are confidential unless you permit us to share your concerns.

Every state is required to have an Ombudsman Program that addresses complaints and advocates for improvements in the long-term care system. Find out more about the Colorado state office here: https://www.coombudsman.org/
